    One terminal, two piers

A single passenger terminal splits into a Schengen/European pier and a domestic, Maghreb and Middle East pier. Walking distances stay short. In summer, queues grow: allow 2h30 before a European departure between 10 July and 31 August, 2h the rest of the year.

Getting to Tunis, La Marsa or Les Berges du Lac

Public bus 35 runs to Place Barcelone in central Tunis — the cheapest option.

Yellow taxis wait outside arrivals; insist on the meter, the night surcharge is official.

Hotel shuttles and louages are convenient for Les Berges du Lac, Sidi Bou Saïd and the northern suburbs.

Car rental desks sit in the arrivals hall, useful for Kairouan, Sousse or the Sahel.

    Money and formalities

The Tunisian dinar is not convertible abroad: you cannot buy it before departure or take it out. Exchange on arrival at the airport bank counter and keep the receipt so you can change money back.

A valid passport is required for tourist stays; always confirm current rules with consular authorities before travelling.
