Which airline to pick for Paris–Bangkok?

Thai Airways runs the only daily non-stop CDG → BKK (11h30) with well-rated onboard service. Air France offers 4 non-stops per week, usually €50–80 more.

Gulf carriers (Qatar via Doha, Emirates via Dubai, Etihad via Abu Dhabi) are 30–40% cheaper with a 2–3h layover. Turkish Airlines via Istanbul is often the cheapest (from €429) but 15h total travel time.

When to book to pay less

Best value: May–June and September–October (monsoon in Thailand, fewer tourists). Expect €450–550 return.

Avoid December–February (dry high season, up to €900) and mid-July to mid-August. Ideally book 8 to 12 weeks ahead — prices spike in the last 3 weeks.

CDG or Orly? Arrival at Bangkok

All non-stops depart from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle T1 or T2E. Orly does not operate long-haul to Asia.

In Bangkok you land at Suvarnabhumi (BKK), 30 km east of the centre. The Airport Rail Link reaches Phaya Thai station in 26 minutes for 45 THB (€1.20). Avoid unofficial taxis; use the 'Public Taxi' queue.

    Baggage & formalities

In economy expect 23 kg checked + 7 kg cabin (varies by airline). Low-cost OTA fares often exclude checked bags — check before paying.

Formalities: passport valid 6 months after return, visa-free tourist stay up to 60 days for EU citizens since July 2024. A digital arrival form (TDAC) must be filed before boarding since May 2025.
