Most of us take our access to water for granted—we're able to turn on the tap and water flows out, without thought. But many communities around the world, and even in the US, don't have access to clean water. The scarcity of water is something I've been acutely aware of since I was a child. I grew up in California, a drought-state, and, most recently, was living in Cape Town when it was predicted to be the first city to run out of water in modern history. During my junior year of college, my roommate and I volunteered over our Spring Break for a student-led non-profit organization to bring clean water access to a remote, rural community in Honduras. In just a week, we were able to build the infrastructure to supply the entire community with clean water. I'll never forget when a young boy asked me if I had a "Pila" (the water storage container we had built his family during our time there). This simple concrete structure was such a luxury that it seemed impossible to explain that we had sinks with 'unlimited' hot and cold water access at the simple lift or turn of a handle. Fast forward to just a few years ago, I was living in Cape Town when, after years of drought, we were faced with 'Day Zero'—no more water. Luckily, the city overcame it, but it's not a unique situation. Many cities around the world are threatened with similar fates. On this #WorldWaterDay, I want to remind everyone access to water is a privilege and that Earth's resources are finite. We can actively help others get access to clean drinking water in our own countries and abroad. You can donate, volunteer, share and, at the very least, reduce your use. I'm honored to have a partner like @waterlesshaircare, a brand that cares about water conservation, and contributes to organizations that support water security for communities based in the U.S. In honor of this, Waterl
